i have a problem. my brother keeps putting stupid stuff on my computer when im not here. like he changed my start button to say old goop.
he made it were my task manager is disabled and im tired of 1 thing after another and i want to get a password or something where he wont be able to get online or on my account. period.
i already have a windows password -where it loads up with accounts and when you click your name you type in a password to log in to the account.
however he knows how to bypass that and can also get in through safe mode.
i want something that will stop him from getting online/ on my account -preferable a password of some sort that way only i can get on my account / on line period. without him bypassing it / using safe mode.

EDIT:I remember along time ago i had a password that as soon as the computer turned on it went to a black screen and had %26#039;%26#039;password%26#039;%26#039; in the middle of the screen and unless you knew it then there was no way to log on but i dont remember how to set that up.
please help as im sick and tired of the pranks =) thanks.|||i know exactly what you mean. you seem to be using xp, as the administrator password is not set and if you go to safe mode you can log on as admin without a password.
now here%26#039;s how to set up the password at the beginning:
when your computer starts, right at the beginning you should here a beep. then something on your screen shows up that sais press del to enter setup or something. press that. if nothing shows up, try delete.
then you get to a blue area. search everything until you find a password and/or supervisor password. set it and you%26#039;re done! but sometimes you have to make sure that you also set the password to show up all the time, not only when you enter bios, so look out for that. save %26amp; exit, restart and you%26#039;re done!
just be sure you remember the password, otherwise you%26#039;ll have to reset bios by taking out the battery on the mainboard or using a jumper, but then the whole bios will be gone and you%26#039;ll (maybe) have to reconfigure. your password will be gone too.
edit: don%26#039;t get lockup programs, they can be nasty.|||You want a program called lock my pc
you set a master password and thats it no one can get into the pc
you can set it to activate at every reboot,after standby and hiberbation,lock at certain times and after any inactivity.also it can be disable to it does not show on the taskbar or task managed and im not too sure about safe mode tho,but you can put a password in ure bios maybe for that.
Also when ure pc is locked everything still runs in the background.

start ure pc and look at the black screen boot up and it will tell you the key to enter the bios
restart the pc and keep pressing that key.
usually its DEL or F11 or F2.
and look through the bios settings to set a password and look for settings that allow no boot with out password|||What your thinking of is setting a password in BIOS. You can go into the BIOS on most PCs and set a boot password. This will prevent the PC from even booting until it is entered. Its much harder to hack those.|||Firstly, Set up a password on every account so he cant bypass u.
Anyone can bypass ur account password by disabling it thorugh another account!!!!
Secondly, if ur usng firefox u can set up a password to access the net too.

Thirdly, U need a BOIS password, making it almost impossible to hack.
Fourthly, u can set a password to ur programs by going to CONTROL PANEL%26gt;PROGRMS%26gt;SECRITY%26gt;PASSWORD ACCESSABLE%26gt; MAKE PASSWORD%26gt; AND EVERY PROGRAM NEEDS A PASSWORD TO LOAD
