How do I change my administrater name?
When setting up my computers (Vista) I used the admin. name (fictitious) ABC. Later I changed my log on name (to CBA) the usual way using -control panel/user accts/user accts./change your name. When attempting to network (later yet) I couldn%26#039;t network among computer unless using the original admin. name (ABC). The computer still stores the (ABC) profile under computer/system properties/advanced sys. settings/(advanced tab) profiles. Nowhere is the (CBA) profile except on the log on screen. I%26#039;d like to rename the (ABC) to (CBA) to make it easier to remember. (3 computers). The first name i chose for myself (admin.) on each computer was not easy to remember. thats why i renamed later. I didnt know I%26#039;d be stuck with it forever. I found no way to rename the original profile (ABC) except for logging on purposes. I%26#039;m forced to network using the old admin. name. confusing...yes.|||u r rite,,, i didn%26#039;t get it. so confusing :(

The admin has probably set it that way to stop users downloading items that may have virus%26#039;s in them.

Recently hyphenated my maiden name with hubby%26#039;s because we are expecting our first baby. Got as far as SS, bank account, and driver%26#039;s license, but now starting to regret it as it%26#039;s become a royal PIA. Both names are easy to pronounce and of English origin, but I have to spell both and mention that the name is hyphenated which for some odd reason seems to trip people and computers up.AAAHHHH!! I wish that I had researched this a little more. Considering just changing my name to hubby%26#039;s before taxes or baby comes, but wondering if this will just create more of a mess. How Do I Change Computer Name? Currently it is C:/KAREN-PC/Mizz_Dubber, but I want C:/KAREN-PC/Karen?

How do you change your profile picture for the user account on the computer?
there are different profiles you can have on your computer. each user has a name and a profile picture and a password. I go to control panel and click on user accounts and go to Change Profile Picture. But every time I click on any picture ( even the default pictures) and click Change Picture, a box pops up that says %26quot;Permission Denied%26quot;. I don%26#039;t understand why it does this. This only happens on my user account. You can change the picture on other accounts but not mine. I am even the Administrator user on the computer. At first, I changed my ipod%26#039;s name to George...but then i wanted to change it to Gunther. I went on my iTunes and on the source list, i double clicked my ipod%26#039;s name which then highlighted it and i typed in Gunther. Because I did, there was no need for a default Administrator account; I never had one (or at least it%26#039;s hidden). I don%26#039;t have a Guest account visible either. Your Administrator account is just there because you need at least one account with administrator privileges. If you create a new account (with administrator privileges), you can name it whatever you want and also change the name later. The other one should be hidden automatically like the message says - if not, you can do it manually. You can copy over all its data to your new account as well. You can definitely turn off the guest account.
In my opinion, it%26#039;s good to have 2 administrator accounts so if something%26#039;s messed up with one, you can fix it with the other. You can set this second account so it%26#039;s not visible on the welcome screen or, if you%26#039;re the only user, you can skip the welcome screen entirely and go straight into your account.
