When I was a kid. I loved Legos, and I loved and was good at computers, so it seemed like a natural choice.

The decision to be a software engineer sort of fell on me - by education, I%26#039;m a Computer Engineer (closer to Electrical Engineering than Software Engineering, really), but my internship while I was in college was at a company in the area that did software, so I sort of picked that up when I graduated.

Computer Science/Computer Engineering drives the world - everything nowadays depends on computers. There are a ton of opportunities available that you wouldn%26#039;t necessarily even think of. All your work, be it in industry or in academics, has a chance to change someone%26#039;s life in a meaningful way. Whether you invent a new type of circuit, or design a better word processor, you%26#039;re making life better for someone. It feels very meaningful.
11. What is the least favorite thing about you job/ computer engineering?
A lot of the folks that work in industry are very stubborn and opinionated. This can make for some very good discussions but it can also contribute to some nasty, difficult situations. I suppose that happens in any field, though. Part of the downside of the job, though, is it isn%26#039;t (usually) one where you can go home at night and forget about work. There%26#039;s always the problem you%26#039;re trying to solve looming in the back of your mind. This can get stressful, but only if you let it.

I actually can%26#039;t say; suffice it to say I work for a very large US company and we%26#039;re one of the forerunners in our field.

Vista not loading, can only re-install it, how do I fix it? And will I get to keep my files? =S?
I started by using the Registry Easy program to search and fix problems, then got and used Advanced System care.
Then, a friend of mine sent me a website to fix some Visa tweaks, supposedly to allow your computer to boot faster, to shut down faster, to change your startup screen, etc.
So I did a few of those tweaks. But then, as I rebooted my computer, I got a royal.sys blue screen of death. I rebooted in safe mode, and checked online how to fix it. I followed the first steps, which included going into system32 (the thing nobody should ever do) and changing the file%26#039;s name from royal.sys to royal.bsk or anything else.
Therefore, I did it, then rebooted. After Vista loaded, the horror. It claimed that my Windows copy was not an original, and that I couldn%26#039;t do anything unless I either bought a legal copy online or inserted an activation code.
After a few reboots (I could at least use the internet meanwhile), the computer just refused to load Windows. It just kept rebooting in a cycle as soon after the blue screen, in which you can press F10, esc, etc, for boot options. I asked one of my friends to download and burn on a CD the Windows Reparation CD, and it kind of worked, since it loaded Windows, but I still needed an activation code to re-install Vista. What can I do??
Also, a HUGE worry that I have, will I be able to keep my files???

Bullet Time Aid: The Game Options menu contains a new selection called Bullet Time Aid. The Bullet Time Aid helps players to conserve Bullet Time by automatically switching off Bullet Time when performing a Shootdodge, and prevents the player from accidentally re-enabling Bullet Time during a Shootdodge. Additionally, when you run out of ammo or switch guns, Bullet Time is automatically switched off. Bullet Time Aid is enabled by default.
Key Names: The menus read key names directly from Windows. This means that key names will change depending on your localized Windows version. For example with US versions of Windows, the mouse buttons are referred to as MB1 for left and MB2 for right mouse button.

Last Minute Notes
Bullet Time Aid: The Game Options menu contains a new selection called Bullet Time Aid. The Bullet Time Aid helps players to conserve Bullet Time by automatically switching off Bullet Time when performing a Shootdodge, and prevents the player from accidentally re-enabling Bullet Time during a Shootdodge. Additionally, when you run out of ammo or switch guns, Bullet Time is automatically switched off. Bullet Time Aid is enabled by default.
Key Names: The menus read key names directly from Windows. This means that key names will change depending on your localized Windows version. For example with US versions of Windows, the mouse buttons are referred to as MB1 for left and MB2 for right mouse button.
System Requirements
Max Payne runs on a wide variety of hardware and operating systems. To make sure you are getting optimal game play experience on your system, please make sure Max Payne uses suitable graphical detail level settings for your PC. For more information, please refer to the Options menu tool tips in the game.

How do i know if these trojans, viruses, and spyware are out of my computer?
i know its long but PLEASE read and help me.
so i went on a myspace layout site, dont know what possessed me to do it, but i did it and got some really bad viruses and stuff.
a minute after i went on the site errors kept popping up saying files were trying to be deleted so i shut my computer and when i turned it back on, windows supposedly came on in the taskbar saying my computer was infected with spyware, my background was changed to a navy blue background with red lettering saying something like %26#039;WARNING! Your computer is infected%26#039; and stuff like that. it would take forever to turn on, and all the names of the programs on desktop were highlighted with a dark blue.
my mcafee kept only taking something out called %26#039;HTML/Fake AV%26#039; and %26#039;Fake Alert-DZ or -GM%26#039;
i had malwarebytes installed on my computer but i think the virus wouldnt let me use it so i reinstalled it and got it working, along with ad-aware and super anti spyware, all from download/cnet.com
malwarebytes got a couple of things, super anti spyware got a WHOLE bunch of stuff, and all ad-aware got was cookies. so i ran scans in safe mode over and over and finally it said there were no items found.
but when i restarted my computer, it was stuck at the welcome screen with the mouse %26amp; sandbox cursor for a while, like it did before, and when it turned on, the background changed back to the navy blue, but without the warning thing, for a second or two, and went backt to my normal background, but the programs on my desktop are still highlighted in navy blue. i get no more warnings from %26#039;windows%26#039; saying my computer is infected with spyware, and none of my 4 antivirus programs say theyve found anything.

if so why does the background and programs on my desktop change when i turn my computer on still, and it still takes kinda long to start up, longer than before i got the trojans. is it because the viruses could have changed/altered/deleted startup files to make it like that, and now the viruses are out, but the changes are permanent? idk, im very confused.
please help, thanks in advance!|||Sometimes when you remove malware, it will mess up setting on your computer. So you may have to mess around with your setting for your desktop. Something is wrong. You%26#039;ve got solid programs. If you open SuperantiSpyware , then click on Preferences, then click on the repair tab. You will find System and Browser Repairs. There are a couple of Desktop repairs options you might want to try. If your computer is fine. You should think about adding a program called Secunia, So you can patch security holes on your computer. If you get infected by just going to a site, you have some updating to do. All users who know how to keep their computer clean will have a program like Secunia, in fact most of us use Secunia.

Good Luck|||First off... if you are really using 4 AV programs, that may be your problem. I am only talking about AV%26#039;s, not anti-malware (Malwarebytes) or anti-spyware (SAS or similar)... More than one AV can, and most likely will, conflict with each other causing one major headache...
It also sounds like you have picked up a piece of really sneaky malware called a %26quot;root-kit%26quot;. It hides deep inside of you system files and is almost impossible for a traditional AV to detect it. You need to use a specialized program just for root-kits. AVG does not even contain ANY root-kit protection.
Download a free rescue disk and run it before you Windows has a chance to start and see if you can root it out...

What if when you connect your iphone to itunes that you only see the iphone symbol and nothing else?
Also every time i try to change it so that it says my name iphone. It says eject. I just restored it so that i could delete things because switched out my computer. Need help. I had my computer completely restored to factory settings. Well on the screen absolutly everything is much larger than it used to be, icons on the wallpaper and all webpages. I think its very simple to make it smaller but i cant find how. I have a Packard Bell and use Windows XP if that helps.
Also for people who have Windows Live Messenger its really wierd. I had an add-on you know the ones where your display name can be changed colour by entering codes like [C=6] i dont know where to download one. Can anyone reccomend me where to download it and what one to download.

Admin account on MacBook just disappeard?
Ok, I had posted a previous question trying to change the name on my computer... this is what I was told to do:
Create a new administrator account under your name, then delete the old admin account. The comp should recognize the new name.
I did this... then restarted the comp to refresh it with all the changes I had made. I logged on under ONE of my admin names (remember, I still had 2 made), and went to delete one of the admin accounts. When I tried to delete one of them (and failed), I looked over and saw that ALL of my accounts had been changed to STANDARD. There ISN%26#039;T an admin account anymore!
I tried to somehow contact tech support, but Mac freakin%26#039; makes you PAY for it! ...I%26#039;m so irritated, cuz the computer has somehow hidden this extremely important access...
Please, HOW do I get this admin account back?!|||Maybe you set another admin account, so the old admin account hidden. Oh you delete it. Maybe you shoud run ghost in safe mode to reset the accounter user and creat a new Admin account.

Re-Naming An iPod...?
Once you%26#039;ve given your iPod a name and you go to the screen in iTunes where you see the little picture of your iPod and all that lovely information, is there a way to change the name of your iPod on the computer? If so, how? Thanks!|||in the list right beside the picture, like umm where your music is, like playlists and stuff, there will be a pic of your iPod under devices...click the name of it then click it again after it is highlighted but pause after its highlighted and then type in whatever you want...|||ITS REALLY EASY TO CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR IPOD. GO TO ITUNES AND DOUBLE CLICK ON YOUR IPOD UNDER THE DEVICE LIST. THEN CHANGE THE NAME. sorry i left capslock on by mistake. hope this helps.|||Try this: Click once on the name of your iPod in the sidebar, and then click once again. The name should now be highlighted. Type the new name, and press enter. Computer keeps shutting down Windows Explorer (DEP problems)?
I am using Dell Latitude D600 with Windows XP sp2
Lately I have been getting a message (completly randomly) saying %26quot;To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program%26quot; Name: Windows Explorer
Publisher: Microsoft Corporation.
I%26#039;m not sure exactly why it started doing this or how to fix it. I have looked at several other searches, and have tried to change it in the %26quot;performance Options%26quot; under the Data Execution Prevention settings, but it says I am not an administrator (although I am.) so it says I cannot make any changes...
Can anyone help me? =/|||DEP stands for Data Execution Prevention. It means preventing the program from trying to use its data area as program code -- a serious malware trick. If you%26#039;re getting DEP errors, there%26#039;s a good chance you have malware on your machine trying to trick Windows Explorer into doing bad stuff.
If you have an anti-virus, I suggest you make sure it has the latest virus definitions and run a scan with it. If you don鈥檛 have one, many people here swear by AVG (it鈥檚 free).
I suggest you also download Ad-Aware 2007 and Spybot S%26amp;D (they鈥檙e free), install them, update them and run them. If any of the above (or any anti-malware, for that matter) doesn鈥檛 seem to be able to get rid of everything it reports finding, try running it again in Safe Mode. Safe Mode often prevents malware from protecting itself.
Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.
To get into Safe Mode:
1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4. When the login screen comes up, log in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won%26#039;t be able to see the Internet, for instance.
6. When you%26#039;re finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.
Note that even if the anti-malware programs get rid of the malware, they may not be able to reverse the effects. Search the Web for possible fixes.
Update and run everything regularly.

relationship issue
my issue problem is that i started to date this man. we both get this are not even a day apart by birth give or take a few hours. the both of us have been severely neglected and abuse in our lives by family, friends, and romantic relationships etc. we are now are 29 soon to turn 30. we both have had extreme dealing with God, christ, and the Holy spirit. We started a relationship he lives in NYC i live in NJ. we meet online and would talk with each other all the time. online i have three screen-names. One of the screen-names I wanted to use it for a fake. I used a picture of a person i had sex with two years ago. I have not heard from or seen since. i wanted to change this picture when i started dating the new man but didn%26#039;t know how to delete it so i left the pic up. i didn%26#039;t know how to take it off. i just got my computer and have been offline for about 8 years. During the relationship I started to getting annoyed and upset because I would see pictures of him with other females also when he would stay up all hours of the night typing talking whatever it was with other females. I would get upset if I heard the sound of an Im%26#039;s being sent to him. I couldn%26#039;t control my feelings of being inadequate, low self esteem, and him leaving me. i fell in love with him. he came down for the weekend and he was called by a female that he stated he said happy mothers day to earlier he said i am with my girl and we will talk later. that was the conversation from him sitting next to me. the next day he left his phone in my car i went to the store i heard a beep and i picked up the phone read a text message from this girl asking if he was home. i texted back to her and asked what did she need from him. this girl texted back that lilly the girls daughter like him and he like the little girl. well um what is this
i asked him he said she is acting ghetto and shoudl have done that. after that day every time i talked to him on the computer he was so mean to me. that kinda text /typing to others i dont like it and i get upset so it further fuel him being mad and upset at me. it just kept adding up to me. he broke it off with after i told him the picture of the who the guy was and i couldn%26#039;t delete it he broke up with me for it. but yet he up all hours of the day and night talking to females and having them call and text him. i see how stupid it is

After turning my computer on, the Windows XP setup appears everytime.. Help?
I am fixing my boss%26#039;s computer for him. He told me to wipe it completely. He then gave me Windows XP Home Edition to install. I managed to get it on there. Then it was all done. The setup was over and I was on the computer itself. He wanted me to update his Internet Explorer to IE8. I went to the site, got the setup and then it said I needed to download updates. I went to do so, and then had restart. After a reboot. It starts on the Windows XP Home Edition setup. It does a splash screen. Then the Welcome to Microsoft Windows. Thank you for purchasing Microsoft Windows XP. Let%26#039;s spend a few minutes setting up your computer.. It asks if I want to register with microsoft. I say no, because my boss can do that later. Then I need to make a username, like who will use the computer. I put his name in and click next. Then it says Thankyou! Then I hit finish and it shows the desktop. Everything is there I did, but the resolution changes. After all that I cannot update to IE8.
