I couldnt log on to my computer after I changed my domain?

I changed the existing membership of my computer from some domain to a workgroup and after I restarted it I couldnt log on by my existing acount. It says %26quot;make sure that the domain and user name are correct and type your password again%26quot; How could Ilog in with my existing password|||When you are part of a domain you have an extra option when loging into an account. That option is domain.

So you have three boxes:

Username

Password

Domain

It is most likely that the login you were using was part of the domain. That being said you will no longer be able to login to that account untill you are part of that domain again.

The reason for this is because you now have these long in options

Username

Password

The domain login option you have is now assumed for you. This assumption is that you will be login into an account that is local to the machine. If you ever noticed before that in the domain drop down box that existed before you removed your computer domain, one of the choices was your computer name as a domain choice.

So, if your trying to log into an account that was once part of the domain you need to have an administrator add your machine back into the domain, log into your domain account while attached to the network and your password will cache and you will be able to log in freely.

If you have an account and password that is local to the machine then login using that.|||Do you really refer to your residence as your %26quot;domain%26quot;? |||you should see a drop down box that has both your domain and the local machine name in it. if you have that, change it to your local machine, if not, try this

\\local-machine-name\username|||If you never added an Administrator password, try to log in as %26quot;administrator%26quot; and leave the password field blank. Once you%26#039;re in, change your workgroup BACK to a domain. You%26#039;re trying to log on to an account that doesn%26#039;t exist. |||since you took your self off of the domain, your user name and password aren%26#039;t go to %26quot;register%26quot; with your system. When on a domain, your user account is stored on the server. Since you are off the domain , hence the server, your will need to log on to your local account on the computer. It will be a different user name and password.
