When I was in the navy.

When I understood the range of practical applications.

MIT and UC Berkeley

6. How was your college life?


The pits. I was on the GI Bill, barely enough money to exist, considered a nerd by the girls who went for the fraternity types, and studied almost every waking hour.

Tops.





8. What was your favorite course in college, that dealt with computer software engineering?


Optimal control theory





9. What is your favorite thing about this field?


The programs eventually were a lot smarter than I am.





10. What is the most interesting thing about this field?


Figuring how to make the programs smarter than I am.





11. What is the least favorite thing about you job/ computer engineering?


Management. Egotistic, arrogant, usually only marginally competent at best.

Lockheed, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory

I did.

My part averaged 6 months, but I usually worked on 3 projects at once.

Assembly language needed for hardware cpus

I hope not.

Retire earlier.
