How do u change the full computer name? I%26#039;ve tried changing the name from the field and pressing apply but it just goes back to the original after restarting.|||To Change the Computer Name
Right click on My Computer Select Properties. It opens System Properties Dialog Box. OR
You can use shortcut key to open System Properties Dialog Box using simultaneously Window+Pause/Break keys on keyboard.
[Windows XP, Select Computer Name Tab 鈥?Change Button] -
[Windows 2000, Select Network Identification Tab 鈥?Click on Properties Button] 鈥?
In Computer Name Text Box, change computer name and Press OK Button 鈥?
It will require Domain Username and Password.
Give domain administrator level username and password then OK 鈥?
It gives message %26quot;You must reboot this computer for the changes to take effect OK
Then OK on system properties dialog box 鈥?
Then it appears a message %26quot;You must restart this computer before the new settings will take effect. Do you want to restart your computer Click on YES.
It will restart the system and the name of computer has been changed.
|||Right click my computer, properties, locate computer name, click change.
